Following the successful establishment of Pathway Junior School, the Board of Governors realized the need for an Independent Secondary School in Chitungwiza. The idea gained momentum and the school opened its doors to its first intake in January 2014. The school started its operations at temporary sites at the Junior School until it moved to its structures in the same stand.

The successful establishment of Pathway Senior School hinged around the excellent performance of the Junior School. Many stakeholders wished the Senior School to duplicate and maintain excellent standards. 

Following its successful establishment of a Boarding facility, the school now serves a wide community while putting emphasis on Christian values. The Junior School is the feeder school and it has always been the wish of the Board of Governors to align the operations into an Integrated Schools System where Early Childhood Development (ECD) becomes entry point and Upper Sixth, the exit point. Indeed, the schools have become independent Schools in Chitungwiza and continue to work on the culture of excellence, discipline and hard work.

Pathway Senior School offers Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and is a registered British Council Associate School. The British Council Associate school status is a scheme to help schools and educational institutions in Zimbabwe who enter students for University of Cambridge International Examinations. The British council takes on the whole management and administration of CIE examinations for its associate schools and ensures that they have resources and support they need for a successful examination delivery. 

 The integration system has enhanced a sound relationship between the schools. Because the Junior School children are already taking Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations, movement to the Senior School is less burdensome. There is close liaison between the schools and some facilities and resources are shared. Staff from both schools meet during organized social gatherings as well as staff development sessions. This interaction has ensured continuity of the culture of excellence of the PATHFINDERS!
